Hotmail hacked; 10,000 user details posted

Hotmail Hacked, Agenda Security ServicesHOTMAIL users are being warned to change their passwords after a massive phishing attack which led to the posting of email users’ account details.
10,000 stolen email account details were posted yesterday at pastebin.com, a website used to share code.
Microsoft said it launched an investigation to determine the impact to customers. 

Technology blog neowin.net said the now-removed list detailed mostly Europe-based accounts starting from A through to B, suggesting more lists could exist.  Phishing schemes involve sending fraudulent but legitimate-looking emails to dupe people into revealing passwords and security information.  Those affected included email users whose addresses ended with @hotmail.com, @msn.com and @live.com.
