Government Introduces revised Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

In March 2009 the Government issued version 2 of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) aimed at providing a framework that must be applied for pre-employment screening for all Government departments and individuals that may come into contact with “government assets”.  The BPSS is based on the four key elements of identity checks, nationality and immigration status, employment history and criminal record checks (unspent convictions).

Agenda is pleased to report that it is one of only two agencies named within the guidelines to provide certain key checks.  Impetus in the uptake of this new revision is growing amongst both government departments and Government suppliers and agencies and Agenda is well placed to advise you of the new requirements.  If you would like to find out more about the BPSS requirements contact richard@agenda-security.co.uk
