The Security Services division of Agenda Resource Management Limited has successfully completed the British Standard Institute audit for ISO 27001 (formerly BS 7799:2 2002). Specialists in pre-recruitment staff screening, computer and data security, network penetration testing, ethical hacking, site security, security training and consultancy, the company claims to be amongst the very first organisations anywhere in the UK to have achieved this new and important accreditation.
The recent audit included a review of the BS 7858 Code of Practice for Security Screening, which Agenda has embraced within the ISO 27001 standard. The audit covered the firm’s security processes and checked that controls are in place to reduce the risk of security threats and to avoid system weaknesses being exploited.
The new international standard for an Information Security Management System (ISMS), ISO 27001 replaces BS7799-2. Agenda was one of the first 100 organisations to achieve BS 7799 back in 2003.
Commenting on the Security division’s latest achievement, Paul Sanders, Agenda Group’s Managing Director, said: “This is great news and another important milestone in the rapid growth of our Security Services business. Customer records, financial information and intellectual property must be protected from loss, theft and damage. ISO 27001 provides the controls and processes a business needs to manage and protect the information entrusted to it.
“ Accreditation gives our clustomers, suppliers and partners the assurance that we have robust, independently audited controls in place addressing the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
“In short, those who either use our services or work with us, can be confident that the information we hold about them on our IT and paper-based systems is safe and secure.”
